Macedonia is a landlocked Balkan nation of mountains, lakes and ancient towns with Ottoman and European architecture. The capital, Skopje, is known for its sprawling Old Bazaar quarter and historic buildings turned museums, including the National Gallery of Macedonia, housed in a 15th-century Turkish bath complex. The southern city Ohrid, on a lake of the same name, has a medieval townscape and hilltop castle.Macedonia is a landlocked country located in the Balkan Peninsula. The terrain is largely forested and mountainous, with 16 mountains that have an elevation greater than 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). The two major mountain ranges are the Sar Mountains and the Osogovo-Belasica (Rhodope) range. The highest point is on Mount Korab, which stands at an elevation of 2,764 meters (9,396 feet).

Higher Education
Macedonia education system can be classified into two broad divisions i.e., pre-higher and higher education system. The pre-higher education at Macedonia can be further classified into primary, secondary and high education system. there are numerous universities at Macedonia that offer 4 to 6 year programs. After the successful completion of these programs, the students are awarded a Diploma with professional title such as Engineer, Lawyer, Teacher, etc. at lower level and Graduate Lawyer, graduate Teacher, Graduate Engineer, etc. at higher level.
Tourism
Macedonia has many beautiful scenic sites that draw visitors from around the world. Lake Ohrid is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as one of the oldest settlement locations in Europe. The 3 million year old lake is surrounded by beautiful beaches and a historic city, which has architectural marvels including several ornate churches, a fortress, and theater. Macedonia also has a few national parks, including Galicica National Park, Mavrovo National Park, and Pelister National Park.
Macedonia’s capital, Skopje, is also its largest city, and features historic sites, including Porta Macedonia a triumphal arch for the country’s independence, and the Stone Bridge, which dates back to the 6th century and the Byzantine Empire. Skopje also features the Kale Fortress, and the city’s most famous monument, the statue of a Warrior on a Horse.
Climate Weather
Macedonia weather is characterized by a climate which fluctuates between a Mediterranean and continental type of climate all year round. Macedonia weather is highly variable and unpredictable.While the valleys of the Vardar and Strumica rivers have temperate Mediterranean type of climate, the interior parts have a moderate continental type of climate. The interior areas of Macedonian country have warm and dry summers and cold, wet winters.
