Serbia is located in Southeastern Europe, found within the Balkan peninsula and the Pannonian Plain, which is part of Central Europe. It is a landlocked country with 8 countries surrounding its borders. Hungary is to the north, while Romania is to the northeast, Bulgaria to the southeast, Macedonia to the south, Montenegro and Albania to the southwest, Herzegovina and Bosnia to the west, and Croatia to the northwest.

More than 30% of Serbia's land is covered by dense forests.

The agriculture in the country of Serbia is very strong and there are numerous agricultural products in Serbia. Some of the major agricultural products in Serbia are wheat, sugar beets, beef, maize, sunflower and so on.

Industries in Serbia

Along with the agricultural aspects, the industrial background of Serbia is also stable enough. There are various industries that are developing very fast.

Some of the major industries in Serbia include agricultural machinery industry, paper and pulp industry, electrical and communication equipment industry, lead industry, sugar industry, transportation equipment industry and so on.

Exports From Serbia

There are many products in Serbia that are exported to the foreign countries. Some of the these major export commodities are different types of manufactured goods, machinery and transport equipments, food and live animals and various other things.


Natural Resources

Serbia is endowed with substantial natural resources, but it is notably deficient in mineral fuels. Some coal has been developed in the northeast, and the possibility exists for the expansion of mining there. The little petroleum that has been discovered is located in the Vojvodina.


Higher Education

The higher education system in Serbia has two types of studies: academic studies organized at universities, and applied studies organized primarily at colleges of applied studies, and occasionally at universities as well.


Tourism

Serbia is a country on southeast Europe's Balkan peninsula with northern plateaus and mountains with ski resorts to the south. Capital city Belgrade is home to Communist-era architecture and Kalemegdan Park, site of Belgrade Fortress, held successively by the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Stari Grad, the old city, is home to 19th-century mansions, plus opera and ballet at Narodno Pozorište (national theater).


Climate Weather

The Serbian climate is between a continental climate in the north, with cold winters, and hot, humid summers with well distributed rainfall patterns, and a more Adriaticclimate in the south with hot, dry summers and autumns and rank daily average relatively cold winters with heavy inland snowfall.

In winter, mediumweight clothing and heavy overcoat; in summer, lightweight clothing and raincoat required.
