Country

Monaco is a tiny independent city-state on France’s Mediterranean coastline known for its upscale casinos, yacht-lined harbor and prestigious Grand Prix motor race, which runs through Monaco’s streets once a year. Monte-Carlo, its major district, is home to an elegant belle-époque casino complex and ornate Salle Garnier opera house. It also has many luxe hotels, boutiques, nightclubs and restaurants.

Natural Resources

Monaco's only natural resource is fishing

Higher Education

L'International University of Monaco , is a private higher education establishment. The teaching is in English. It offers courses leading to Bachelor's and Master's Degrees and PhDs in the fields of management and finance and in luxury products and services.

Ministerial Decree No. 2013-199 of 10 April 2013 recognising the diplomas awarded by the International University of Monaco (I.U.M. for short) specifies the diplomas awarded by the I.U.M. and recognised by the Monaco government.

L'École Supérieure d'Arts Plastiques , (Monaco Art School) falls under the responsibility of the Mairie de Monaco (Monaco Town Hall), which issues higher education diplomas in art (the DNAP and DNSEP).

Tourism

The principality of Monaco is a tiny city-state on the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by France, although the Italian Riviera lies a few kilometres farther east.

This is the second smallest independent state in the world (after the Vatican) and is almost entirely urban.

Monaco is best known for Monte Carlo and its Grand Casino, which is a very high class and expensive casino. There are a few other casinos in Monaco that are more casual and typical. The Rock of Monaco, or Monaco-Ville is the old town, with medieval architecture and the Prince's Palace, along with government buildings. Palais Princier (Prince's Palace) is guarded by Carabiners, who are the special guards of the royal family. The changing of the guard ceremony is a nice attraction for visitors, and tours of the palace are also available. The cathedral features Roman and Byzantine architectural influences, and is the final resting place of the royal family.

Climate Weather

Monaco has a mild climate throughout the year, the hottest months being July and August, and the coolest being January and February. Rain mostly falls during the cooler winter months and there is an average of only 60 days' rain per year.

Required clothing

he whole day is a relaxed affair with men in slacks or shorts, and shirts or polo T-shirts and women in light dresses, skirt, shorts, or often even bikinis on board yachts. The Monaco Grand Prix (View our Monaco Grand Prix Packages here) is about fun and exhilaration, but if you are watching it on an exclusive balcony, like our Ermanno Penthouse VIP Hospitality, you may want to dress smart casual.
