Business Economy

Poland has a stable economic status. Unemployment is also not a big issue in this country. It is a rich with its natural resources such as sulfur, copper, natural gas, coal, silver, salt, Amber, lead, arable land etc. The primary agricultural products of the country are fruits, vegetables, wheat, potatoes and so on. The industries that are developing very fast are machine-building industry; coal mining industry, shipbuilding industry, iron and steel industry, food processing industry, textile industry glass industry, beverages, chemicals etc. The materials that are exported to the foreign countries are Germany, Italy, UK, France, Russia, Czech Republic and Netherlands.

Natural Resources

Poland has substantial agricultural and mineral resources. It has the world's fifth-largest proven reserves of hard and brown coal, in addition to deposits of copper, sulphur, zinc, lead, silver, magnesium, and rock salt. There is natural gas and also potentially useful deposits of chalk, kaolin, clays, and potash.

Higher Education

The Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Poland are divided into state (public) and private (non-public) institutions. There are two main categories of higher education institutions: university-type and non-university institutions. In the university-type HEIs, at least one unit is authorised to confer the academic degree of Doctor (PhD), i.e. offers at least one doctoral programme.

All higher education institutions are required to end their courses with examinations. There may be several independent examinations or tests in separate parts of a subject. Usually, oral and written examinations are held at the end of each semester during the examination session. Students sit examinations on each subject separately. The performance assessment period covers either one semester or one academic year. To successfully complete a semester (or a year), a student must attain the pass mark (at least “satisfactory”) for all assessments and examinations in the subjects covered by the curriculum and obtain performance assessment credits for all integrated placements.

Tourism

Poland is an eastern European country on the Baltic Sea known for its medieval architecture and Jewish heritage. In the city of Kraków, 14th-century Wawel Castle rises above the medieval old town, home to Cloth Hall, a Renaissance trading post in Rynek Glówny (market square). Nearby is the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp memorial, and vast Wieliczka Salt Mine, with underground halls and tunnels.

Climate Weather

Polands climate can be described as a temperate climate with relatively cold winters and warm summers, which is greatly influenced by oceanic air currents from the west, cold polar air from Scandinavia and Russia, as well as warmer, sub-tropical air from the south.

In winter, polar-continental fronts often dominate, bringing cold, frosty weather with temperatures far below zero an sometimes heavy snowfall. The late summer and autumn months are often influenced by dry, sub-tropical, continental air mass that bring plenty of warm days.

Required clothing

Lightweights in summer months, with a sweater for walking and the cooler evenings. Medium- to heavyweights are advised in winter. Waterproofing is neccesary throughout the year.
