Economy Business

The Estonian economy continues to benefit from the government’s strong commitment to economic freedom. The rule of law is enforced by an independent judicial system. A simplified tax system, dependable regulatory efficiency, and dynamic engagement with global commerce support the resilient and well-functioning economy.Estonia can offer a progressive business environment with an efficient and compatible infrastructure. E-services, mobile communications and internet applications are among the most progressive in the world. Estonians are adaptable towards new technologies, and use them willingly.

The attractiveness of Estonia is demonstrated by the large number of foreign investors doing business here and the dominance of world-renowned foreign companies in several of Estonia’s economic sectors.

Higher Education

STUDY IN ESTONIA is a cooperation platform of institutions of higher education in Estonia to increase visibility of Estonia as an attractive study destination and promote the possibilities for studying for international students.higher education in Estonia is divided into three levels: bachelor’s studies, master’s studies, and doctoral studies. In some specialties (basic medical studies, veterinary, pharmacy, dentistry, architect-engineer and a classroom teacher program) the Bachelors and Master’s levels are integrated into one unit.

Tourism

Estonia doesn’t have to struggle to find a point of difference: it’s completely unique. It shares a similar geography and history with Latvia and Lithuania, but culturally it’s distinct. Its closest ethnic and linguistic buddy is Finland. There is no doubt that Tallinn is the biggest centre for tourists in Estonia. The historic Old Town with its numerous sights is one of the most impressive medieval monuments in Europe. At the same time, the growing economic metropolis is the only traffic junction in the country and provides to its visitors numerous international and regional transport connections.

Natural Resources

oil shale, rare earth elements, phosphorite, clay, limestone, sand, dolomite, arable land, sea mud, peat (a carbon-rich material used as fuel and mulch), and phosphorite.

Weather Climate

The climate of the Estonia can be described as typical European continental influenced climate with warm, dry summers and fairly severe winters. January is the coldest month with daytime temperatures usually around -5°C, but in some cases winter months can be quite colder with temperatures far below zero, about -20°C or lower and strong, cold northeasterly winds. Heavy snowfall or even snowstorms are also possible on some days. The weather is often breezy and humid due to the proximity of the Baltic Sea.

In summer daytime temperatures reach 20-25°C, but sometimes quite higher, 30°C or more. In most of the time it is dry weather with sunny spells, rain often falls with sometimes heavy Thunderstorms that can occur at the end of the day. July is the warmest month with an average Temperature of 18°C.
