Country

lithuania is a country and the southernmost of Europe’s Baltic states, a former Soviet bloc nation bordering Poland, Latvia and Belarus. Its capital, Vilnius, near the Belarus border, is known for its medieval Old Town. It also has Gothic, Renaissance and baroque architecture, and 18th-century cathedral built on a pagan temple site. Hilltop Gediminas' Tower, a symbol of the city and the nation, offers sweeping views.


Business Economy

Lithuania Economy and Business is dependent on and is influenced by the country's trade relations with other countries of the world. Lithuania economy has been greatly shaped by its trade and also its economic and foreign policies.Previously, Lithuania had a centralized economy that was governed by the state. But that was later changed into a free market system to bring mobility and flexibility into Lithuania Economy and Business.

Privatization of state run enterprises, trade with western countries, international aid etc feature as important aspects in the field of economy and business in Lithuania.


Natural Resources

Limestone, clay, sand, and gravel are Lithuania's primary natural resources, but the coastal shelf offers perhaps 1,600,000 m3 (10 Mbbl) of oil deposits, and the southeast could provide high yields of iron ore and granite.


Higher Education

Higher education is provided in renowned universities like Vilnius University, Vytautas Magnus University etc. There are a number of stream students can choose such as science, engineering, humanities, technical studies etc. Education of Lithuania has contributed a lot in the progress of this country.

There are two types of higher education institutions in Lithuania: universities and colleges. In university-type institutions (akademija; seminarija; aukštojoji mokykloja), university-level studies dominate; in colleges, non-university-level studies dominate. Higher education institutions can be of two types: state and non-state. Non-state higher education institutions can carry out their practice according to a licence issued by the Government.


Tourism

Lithuania has several important natural sites, including many national and regional parks. The national parks include Aukstaitija National Park, Dzukija National Park, Samogitian National Park, National Park of Curonian Spit, and Trakai Historical National Park. One popular attraction in Lithuania are its hill-forts, known as pilikalniai, which offer great views and pleasant outdoor space.


Climate Weather

The climate of the Lithuania can be described as typical European continental influenced climate with warm, dry summers and fairly severe winters. January is the coldest month with daytime temperatures usually around -5°C, but in some cases winter months can be quite colder with temperatures far below zero, about -20°C or lower and strong, cold northeasterly winds. Heavy snowfall or even snowstorms are also possible on some days. The weather is often breezy and humid due to the proximity of the Baltic Sea.


Required clothing

Light- to medium-weights are worn during the summer months. Medium- to heavyweights are needed during winter. Rainwear is advisable all year.
